A NEW RICHARD MILLE PARTNER: GERMAN EQUESTRIAN ATHLETE JESSICA VON BREDOW-WERNDL

The Swiss watchmaking brand is pleased to welcome the talented German dressage rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl to its bevy of female sports partners. Like Diana Luna and Cristie Kerr, she will wear a titanium RM 007.

This year, Jessica took home three 2nd place finishes—at the Amsterdam World Cup Qualifier, the Neumünster World Cup Qualifier and the CDI 5* of Doha (Qatar) and a 3rd place at the CDI 5* of Stockholm (Sweden).

She has always competed with horses she trained herself. Riding is all about feeling according to Jessica: “Riding is a very emotional sport as there is a special bond which you develop in a long partnership with your horse. I ́m a very passionate rider”. Her deep love for her horses is the cornerstone of her talent and combined with diligence, enables her to train the horses to the highest level.

Born in 1986, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl began competing in dressage at the end of the 1990s, qualifying for the Federal Championships at Warendorf in both 1998 and 1999. At the tender age of 15 she began to handle the strict codes that govern equestrian competitions and the stress that goes with them. Convinced of the importance of training, not only for her horse but also for herself, she began regularly and intensively practicing yoga and gymnastics in addition to hiking and running, all essential for her mental and physical condition.

Thanks to her passion and discipline which have honed her natural talent, Jessica claimed not only six gold and two silver medals in the European Junior Championships at only 19 years old; she also won three national titles in Germany.

During the 2013-2014 season, she took 3rd place in the Neumünster (Germany) World Cup Qualifier and the German National Championships in Balve, followed by 1st place in the Gothenburg (Sweden) World Cup Qualifier. In 2015 she added a 3rd place finish at the World Cup Qualifier in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and 3rd place in the World Cup Finals held in Las Vegas, Nevada (US) in addition to a second 1st place win at Gothenburg.

Founding ‘The Home of the Dressage Horse’ in Aubenhausen, Bavaria, with her brother, Benjamin Werndl, has made it possible for the siblings to accompany horses and oversee their schooling from initiation on through to national and international championship levels. The equine residents of the 12-hectare property thus enjoy optimal living and training conditions. Meanwhile, Jessica and her brother regularly welcome persons with disabilities to their stables as part of a support program.

Determination, tenacity and passion are the characteristics that make Jessica von Bredow-Werndl an exceptional new partner for the brand. A few months ago, the first Richard Mille boutique on German soil opened in Munich, which, like the recently signed partnership with German tennis player Alexander Zverev, provides strong evidence of Richard Mille’s active development in Germany.
